A glimpse into taxonomy in a unique setting for TRD in Berlin

In celebration of Taxonomy Recognition Day on May 23, the Botanic Garden Berlin warmly welcomed guests for an exclusive glimpse of the institution’s taxonomic research and some of the most remarkable biodiversity discoveries of recent years.

The event started with an engaging introductory talk by director Prof. Thomas Borsch. Following this, attendees had the unique opportunity to gain insights into taxonomic research through a series of practical demonstrations. Highlights included the discovery of a new diatom species in Berlin, an exploration of the incredible biodiversity of lichens, and the connection between Aztec knowledge and international cooperation.
