Full Speed Ahead – One Year to Go

The TETTRIs team met at the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences

The TETTRIs team met Brussels to review results and plan the final year of the project. Colleagues from all over Europe joined the 3-day event at the Royal Institute of Natural Science.

TETTRIs is now at the stage where tangible results are being produced. All to the benefit of #taxonomy. For example:

  • Accessible reference collections with a focus on pollinators.
  • Data infrastructures to store open data.
  • An online marketplace for taxonomic experts.
  • New training tools conceived and tested.
  • Paving the way for novel career pathways for the next generation.
  • AI and machine learning tools for species identification.
  • A blueprint that will encompass everything we have collectively learned during TETTRIs as well as an action to how the blueprint can be put into action to transform taxonomy on the continent.

Everything the team is working on is part of a larger story. Meeting up in person is so essential to understand how all cogs in the machine play their part.
