RBINS and CETAF team up to celebrate TRD

The Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBINS) partnered with the Consortium of European Taxonomic Facilities (CETAF) and opened its doors for a mixed event for Taxonomy Recognition Day. The event began with opening speeches by Frederik Hendrickx, TETTRIs Financial Coordinator, and Ana Casino, CETAF Executive Director and TETTRIs Technical Coordinator, both emphasizing the importance of taxonomy in our everyday life and the crucial role it plays in biodiversity conservation.

Following the speeches, guests were invited to participate in four guided tours of the museum’s taxonomic collections and the DNA Lab, providing a unique behind-the-scenes experience. After a coffee break, the public had the opportunity to learn a bit more about the taxonomist profession through an engaging poster session.
