Taxonomy under the spotlight at the TRD in Crete

On the first Taxonomy Recognition Day (23 of May, 2024), the Natural History Museum of Crete opened its doors to politicians, students and the public. They were demonstrating the vital role of taxonomists by telling the stories of their specimens, having an open taxonomy lab as well as open discussions about how guests viewed the role of taxonomy in our everyday life.

They called politicians straight from Athens and received great media coverage thanks to their accurate press work to make clear how important taxonomy is in our daily lives.
Those images and videos are just a bit of their accomplishment. Congratulations!
