The Schwäbisch way for the first Taxonomy Recognition Day

The first Taxonomy Recognition Day (23 of May, 2024) in Baden-Württemberg was focused on the new generations.  The Staatliche Museum für Naturkunde Stuttgart indeed invited students from applied and traditional universities around the city for guided tours through the collections.

Researchers and students had discussions about career paths in taxonomy, what their expectations were and what they needed. They also rated their species literacy and talked about how those who had high species literacy achieved this. TRD definitely sparked high interest in Taxonomy and taxonomic research with the students and might lead to follow-up events in the future.
